Quarterback and Core Stack

Leading the way is Caleb Williams at quarterback. His salary is incredibly affordable given his potential upside, making him a great starting point for a FanDuel lineup. Williams has shown the ability to put up big numbers through the air and on the ground, which is crucial for tournaments, even if he has been very up and down.

Pairing him with D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen creates a potent double-stack. Moore is capable of being a target monster in the Bears offense, and Allen remains one of the more reliable wide receivers in the league.

The matchup makes this stack even more appealing. Detroit’s defense has been decimated by injuries, setting up the perfect game environment for Williams and his receivers to rack up points. This trio offers elite upside at reasonable salaries, leaving plenty of room for flexibility elsewhere in the lineup.

Runback Option

No stack is complete without a strong runback option, and Jahmyr Gibbs fits the bill perfectly. Detroit’s explosive rookie running back has carved out a significant role in both the rushing and passing game, especially with David Montgomery out. His ability to create big plays makes him a perfect complement to the Williams-Moore-Allen stack. If the game turns into a high-scoring shootout, Gibbs could easily find himself with multiple scoring opportunities.

Defense

Facing Mac Jones and the struggling Jaguars offense, this unit has the potential to capitalize on turnovers and limited scoring opportunities. While defenses don’t always carry the highest ceiling, the Raiders offer a safe floor at an affordable price, allowing you to spend more on your skill positions.

If you’re considering alternative value defenses, the Giants at $3,100 are another solid option. However, the Raiders’ matchup feels more exploitable this week.

Flexing Value Running Backs

Running back is where we’re finding value. Chuba Hubbard comes in as a popular but affordable play. Despite his salary, Hubbard continues to see solid volume in the Panthers offense, giving him a steady floor with touchdown upside. His role in both the run and pass game makes him a strong option to round out your core.

Rico Dowdle is another excellent choice on FanDuel, where yardage is king. In the last three weeks, Dowdle logged 25 carries for 149 yards, 18 carries for 131 yards and 22 carries for 112 yards, showing he’s fully capable of delivering on his salary. With no full-PPR scoring on FanDuel, Dowdle’s ground-game dominance becomes even more valuable. He’s also due for some positive touchdown regression given his workload, making him a high-upside play.

Tight End

Tight end is often a tricky position to nail, but Trey McBride offers a great mix of affordability and upside. McBride has become the main part of the Cardinals passing attack and should see enough volume to pay off his salary. Plugging him in also allows you to keep your lineup balanced, saving salary for other key positions.

Another potential pivot at tight end is Brock Bowers, but McBride’s consistent role makes him the safer bet for this build.

Final Pieces

The final spots in this lineup come down to flexibility. At wide receiver, Khalil Shakir, Brian Thomas Jr. and Jerry Jeudy are all viable options depending on your salary constraints. Shakir is the best-projected player if you go with Dowdle at running back, while Thomas and Jeudy provide project better if you go with Zach Charbonnet.

For the flex, there are several strong running back choices in the $6,000 and low-$7,000 ranges. Charbonnet is a great option, as is D’Andre Swift, who is undervalued based on his current workload. However, my favorite flex play this week is Dowdle given his recent dominance and favorable matchup.

Here’s are two examples of how a Week 16 FanDuel NFL lineup might shape up based on insights from our Single-Lineup Simulator:

Option 1: Dowdle + Shakir

  • QB: Caleb Williams
  • RB: Jahmyr Gibbs
  • RB: Chuba Hubbard
  • WR: D.J. Moore
  • WR: Keenan Allen
  • WR: Khalil Shakir
  • TE: Trey McBride
  • FLEX: Rico Dowdle
  • DEF: Raiders

Option 2: Charbonnet + Thomas

  • QB: Caleb Williams
  • RB: Jahmyr Gibbs
  • RB: Chuba Hubbard
  • WR: D.J. Moore
  • WR: Keenan Allen
  • WR: Brian Thomas Jr.
  • TE: Trey McBride
  • FLEX: Zach Charbonnet
  • DEF: Raiders
