NFL DFS TNF Contrarian Captain: Dalton Schultz (HOU)
Stokastic’s Captain Optimal Percentage
DraftKings: 6.9%
DFS Salary
DraftKings: $7,000
In what has to be one of the strangest point spreads we’ve seen all season, the Jets are currently 2-point favorites tonight against the Texans. Though Stroud and Co. haven’t looked as dynamic as last season with a struggling offensive line and injuries at wide receiver, it’s surprising that the Texans are underdogs in this spot.
Either way, this game should be competitive, and there are plenty of skill position players worth targeting in the Captain spot on DraftKings. Narrowing down that list, however, it is clear that Texans tight end Dalton Schultz isn’t getting the love he deserves at the Captain spot.
With Houston missing both Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs, Schultz should continue to see an elevated role in the Texans offense. Though he’s only simulating to be in 8.3% of the top 300 lineups by ROI, only 4.8% of lineups are projected to roster him there.

NFL DFS TNF Contrarian Flex Pick: Texans DST (HOU)
Stokastic’s Flex Optimal Percentage
DraftKings: 31.4%
Ownership Projection
DraftKings: 20.5%
With desirable playmakers on both the Texans and Jets, finding value is key on a slate like tonight’s. Contrarian value is even better, and the Texans DST fits both of those bills at only $4,600 on DraftKings. The Texans DST is averaging 7.1 fantasy points per game, and it’s generally been a rock-solid unit. Aaron Rodgers used to be a quarterback against whom taking defenses was difficult — because he never threw interceptions.
Times have changed, however, and this current version of the Jets is one of the worst-coached teams in football. All that is to say there’s upside in Houston’s defense and special teams in this spot, and it’s falling through the cracks on DraftKings.
Houston’s DST is currently the most leveraged play in Stokastic’s Sims. The Texans’ DST appears in a whopping 48.7% of my top 300 lineups in Stokastic’s Sims, but only 20.5% of lineups are expected to roster them.
