Now let’s break down Alex’s winning lineup and the strategy behind his epic $1 million win in the DraftKings NFL DFS $555 contest.

Milly Maker Winning DraftKings NFL DFS Sims Lineup & Strategy

Fun fact: Though Alex won the million and is certainly the happiest person in the Week 12 NFL DraftKings $555, he did not lead all users in total ROI. That honor went to GeeseGolden, who finished fourth to take home $50,000 but did so with a single bullet.

Alex, on the other hand, entered 41 lineups at $555 — hence him only having the second-best total ROI of any user.

But hey — this lineup here returned over 180,000% on investment and got him $1 million:

All told, 31 of Alex’s 41 lineups in this contest returned positively on investment, including two in the top 10 and a solid six in the top 100:

But what we really want to do here is evaluate Alex’s $1 million-winning lineup and how it helped him get there.

Stack-wise, Alex went pretty light, opting only for the pairing of Caleb Williams and Keenan Allen. That Bears tandem has been extremely boom/bust this year, but Alex caught them on a good day. Plus, since they were playing a good Vikings defense, Williams ended up with just 3.8% ownership and Allen only 1.7%.

Their Pre-Contest Sims results were a bit unsure of how to approach them this weekend, with Williams simulating around the middle of the pack in pre-contest ROI. Allen, on the other hand, was the No. 5 receiver for this contest in simulations, and he (obviously) was the top-ROI receiver and Williams the leader of all quarterbacks.

And that was it for stacks — everyone else was a one-off unless you count the pairing of Bucky Irving with the Buccaneers DST. Irving was the No. 7 back in pre-contest ROI and first in actual ROI, doing so at modest 8.9% ownership. The Bucs DST was third-most owned for obvious reasons given the matchup with the Giants. Still, it was a safe play.

Alex went chalk with his other running back in Kareem Hunt, whom the whole industry touted as a strong play this week. He didn’t knock it out of the park, but he wasn’t a bust either — and so many people had Hunt that more than half the $555 field felt the sting.

More chalk came from his top receivers in Courtland Sutton (most wide receiver ownership) and CeeDee Lamb (10th most). Both were perfectly solid additions that appeared often in top-300 simulated lineups throughout the week leading up to kickoff. Another high-priced stud in Trey McBride rounded things out, and he was the No. 9 ROI tight end pre-contest. A high (but not crazy high) 10.3% of the field went with McBride, and he paid off as well.

And look — none of us are Alex “Awesemo” Baker, and it may seem impossible to reach his heights. But as our winners have shown (including a Week 8 Milly Maker champ), we plebes can get pretty darn close to Alex when we use Stokastic’s NFL DFS Sims, tools and data. After all, our products originated with the very projections Alex himself still uses.

So why wait? Get yourself into Milly Maker contention with a Stokastic+ NFL package!
