Elite Quarterback Tier
Josh Allen ($8,500)
Allen is in a great spot this week, and it’s tough to ignore him. The game against Detroit has one of the highest totals of the slate (54.5 points), and Allen is coming off a massive performance last week. Even though he’s going to be highly owned, his ceiling is undeniable. Allen can put up monster numbers with both his arm and legs, and with the Bills 2-point underdogs, it could be a game that forces Allen to be in attack mode the entire time.
The Detroit defense has been far from impenetrable, making Allen a strong priority for your lineups, assuming value opens up as the week goes on. Given the slate and Allen’s upside, he’s a top-tier option you should strongly consider.
Lamar Jackson ($8,300)
Jackson is another elite option, though it’s hard to envision a blow-up performance here given the game’s expected script. The Ravens are favored heavily against the Giants, and while Jackson can still have a solid game, this might be one of those instances where he’s more game-managing than putting up a wild stat line. The Giants defense has struggled, but it’s possible that Baltimore will lean on the run game, and Jackson may not be asked to do too much.
If you’re choosing between Jackson and Allen, it’s tough to go against Allen, especially given his explosive potential in a high-scoring game. Still, Jackson has a safe floor, making him a viable option but likely not the top priority.
Middle Quarterback Tier
Tua Tagovailoa ($6,100)
Tagovailoa is an intriguing option this week. With the Texans dealing with injuries, including one of their best defensive players in Jalen Pitre, Tagovailoa has a chance to exploit some holes. He’s been solid this season, and although he didn’t produce enough to win any major DFS contests last week, he is still consistently putting up points in high-scoring games Miami’s offense, with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, is potent, and this game has shootout potential.
At his salary, Tagovailoa represents a solid value and a nice way to stack with his playmakers. He offers a reliable floor with the upside to exceed value, especially if Hill or Waddle goes off.
Bo Nix ($6,300)
Nix has been playing good, consistent football for a while now, and the Colts defense is very beatable. Nix is at home and comes in with a lot to play for, which only adds to the appeal. He’s thrown over 30 times in most of his games, and the Colts are allowing over 7 yards per attempt. While not a household name in NFL DFS, Nix has a nice ceiling for the price and is a value option, especially in tournaments.
Jared Goff ($6,500)
Goff is interesting in this high-total game. While many will flock to Allen, Goff can also benefit from this shootout environment. Last week he threw 41 passes against Green Bay, and with every weapon at his disposal, Goff has a chance to light it up against a Buffalo defense that’s been vulnerable at times. He is a fine mid-tier play and could be overlooked given the attention Allen will draw, but he can easily deliver a solid return in this matchup.
Kyler Murray ($6,000)
Murray’s performance last week was lackluster, but the game script didn’t help. Arizona was out of it early and didn’t ask Murray to do too much. This week the Cardinals face New England, a team that has been vulnerable defensively. Murray’s rushing ability gives him a higher floor, but with a game that may not be as high scoring, it’s unclear if he’ll need to air it out much. While I’d prefer targeting a running back like James Conner in this matchup, Murray is a consideration if you’re looking for a low-cost option with some rushing upside.

Value Quarterback Tier
Will Levis ($5,000)
Levis has been disappointing, failing to capitalize on good matchups. Despite the opportunities, he was underwhelming at best in Week 14. Against Cincinnati’s defense, it’s hard to trust him, especially after such a poor outing. That said, Levis’ salary is dirt cheap, and if you’re desperate for savings, you could consider pairing him with Calvin Ridley for a low-owned stack. But honestly, he’s hard to recommend confidently given his recent play.
Drake Maye ($5,600)
Maye offers a nice combination of rushing and passing ability, and he’s been one of the more consistent low-priced quarterbacks this season. With Arizona’s defense being middle of the road, Maye has a good opportunity to put up solid numbers. Plus, his ability to run adds to his fantasy appeal. As long as the Patriots keeps it close against Arizona, Maye should have plenty of chances to accumulate fantasy points.
Bryce Young ($5,300)
Bryce Young is an interesting low-cost option this week, especially since Carolina has been playing better football recently. While the Dallas defense could be a challenge, Young’s volume has been up, and he’s been able to make the most of his attempts. It’s a bit of a long shot, but Young could find success against a Dallas team that has allowed big quarterback outings this season.
