Daniel Gafford | NBA Underdog Fantasy Pick Today

There’s no doubt Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving will need to do more offensively than they did in Game 1, but Luguentz Dort and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are really disruptive on defense, and so is Cason Wallace off the bench. This should lead to more opportunities for Daniel Gafford again, who had the second-highest usage on the Mavericks in Game 1, played a playoff-high 27 minutes and had 22 rebound chances.

Gafford was arguably Dallas’ best player on Tuesday in a game that was close until midway through the fourth. It seems unlikely he will lose playing time tonight. Plus, for what it’s worth Gafford averaged 30 points + rebound + assists across 23 minutes per game in three matchups against the Thunder as a Maverick this year. Yes, that is a small sample, but we should take note of that, nonetheless.

Jaylin Williams | Underdog NBA Pick

Assuming this game will not get out of control late like Game 1 did, Jaylin Williams should play between 10 and 12 minutes on Thursday. He finished with two rebounds or fewer in all four games against the Pelicans in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, and he had fewer than four rebounds in 58% of games this season.

The lower on 3.5 rebounds for Williams is currently -140 or worse at every traditional sportsbook, and this is probably going to move down to 3.0 on Underdog sooner rather than later. If it does, then the replacement pick will be Jayson Tatum lower than 27.5 points against the Cavaliers.
