Best Ball Values For Every Team In The AFC | Rankings vs. ADP

Best Ball Values: AFC North

Baltimore Ravens: QB2 Lamar Jackson (Ranked 15.5 Spots Higher Than ADP)

For some reason, the reigning league MVP is being drafted a full round later than he should be. We rank Lamar Jackson at No. 31 overall, comparable to some top running backs and mid-tier WR1s, but his ADP is at 46.5. The same situation occurred with Jalen Hurts — the team’s performance at the end of the season appears to have influenced fantasy perception.

We rank Jackson just behind Hurts but eight spots ahead of Josh Allen, who has the highest ADP among all quarterbacks.

Cincinnati Bengals: QB9 Joe Burrow (Ranked 7.4 Spot Higher Than ADP)

Zack Moss has been the top Bengals value for much of the summer, but his projections have leveled out a bit with public perception. Now it is Joe Burrow who is emerging as the most undervalued Bengal, though it isn’t that dramatic, as he has a 90.4 ADP against a No. 83 overall ranking.

Burrow’s lack of rushing keeps him from reaching the high-end upside as a fantasy asset that he may have as real-life quarterback. That said, Cincinnati still has a really good crop of pass catcher even without Tyler Boyd and this team is going to throw a lot. Moss and Chase Brown are a competent backfield but not an elite one. That suggests the Bengals will lean on the passing game for the most part, and Burrow is up to the task.

Cleveland Browns: QB16 Deshaun Watson (Ranked 38.0 Spots Higher Than ADP)

This is one of the biggest value spots on Underdog for any team or position, as Deshaun Watson is being drafted much later than he should be.

Even setting aside off-field issues, he hasn’t performed well in his limited appearances over the past two years. Consequently, his ADP is 161.7, placing him at QB21. However, we rank him 124th overall and as our QB16. Any positive regression in his passing and rushing ability would make him a top-half quarterback, especially considering he is expected to play a full season. He played only six games over the last two seasons but was very healthy in the three years prior. Additionally, the Browns are a strong team with solid pass catchers and a high-end offensive line.

Pittsburgh Steelers: WR72 Roman Wilson (Ranked 11.2 Spots Higher Than ADP)

Frankly, no one on the Steelers stands out as a significant value. We only rank one player higher than his ADP: Roman Wilson (154th overall vs. 165.2 ADP).

Wilson is currently third on the Steelers’ depth chart but could easily overtake Van Jefferson for the WR2 spot if he performs well. Additionally, if Russell Wilson regains his form, the Steelers passing attack could surprise people.

Best Ball Values: AFC South

Houston Texas: TE12 Dalton Schultz (Ranked 24.8 Spots Higher Than ADP)

While others are getting excited about the Texans’ wide receivers in C.J. Stroud’s second year, we’re enthusiastic about another strong season for Dalton Schultz. Schultz’s rankings are falling due to the addition of Stefon Diggs and the return of Tank Dell. Will this impact Schultz’s production? Perhaps. However, Schultz scored all five of his touchdowns before Dell’s season-ending injury.

We’ve ranked him at No. 103 overall, while his ADP is much later at 129.9.

Indianapolis Colts: WR18 Michael Pittman Jr. (Ranked 11.6 Spots Higher Than ADP)

We love the Colts as a stacking play this year.

Anthony Richardson may still be an unknown when it comes to making other players great fantasy options, but he himself is an elite one if he stays healthy. Michael Pittman Jr. is a legit WR1 with pretty much any quarterback throwing him the ball — he put up 1,152 yards last year with Gardner Minshew — and if Richardson develops, this could be a lethal offense. He’s in a good position to do so since the Colts have a solid offensive line and a great running game with Jonathan Taylor.

Basically, though Pittman is good on his own, our ranking him 22nd overall says more about how much we like the Colts overall than him on his own.

Jacksonville Jaguars: QB11 Trevor Lawrence (Ranked 27.0 Spots Higher Than ADP)

If Trevor Lawrence is still available at pick 110 or later, grab him. His average draft position is 119.0, but we rank him significantly higher at No. 92 overall.

We understand that Lawrence hasn’t met expectations, but he’s still been a decent fantasy quarterback. Plus, Jacksonville’s receiving corps is deep, with five legitimate options (assuming first-round pick Brian Thomas lives up to expectations).

Tennessee Titans: TE18 Chig Okonkwo (Ranked 25.1 Spots Higher Than ADP)

Chig Okonkwo has been one of our most mentioned Best Ball values this offseason.

The general consensus is that the additions of Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd will significantly lower Okonkwo’s tight end ranking. However, we rank him eight spots higher among tight ends and 25.1 spots higher overall than his ADP. Last year, Okonkwo had 77 targets for 528 yards. Even if he loses some targets to Ridley and Boyd, he can compensate by improving on his one, lonely touchdown, making him worth far more than his No. 190.1 draft position.

Best Ball Values: AFC East

Buffalo Bills: RB13 James Cook (Ranked 5.9 Spots Higher Than ADP)

According to our rankings, nearly every player on the Bills is overvalued. The only exception is James Cook.

The difference isn’t significant; we rank Cook at No. 52 overall, while his ADP is 57.9. Though the public is enthusiastic about the Bills passing game, we aren’t as convinced. Instead, we favor Cook’s situation, as he’s coming off a 1,500-scrimmage-yard season and is expected to dominate usage in the backfield again.

Miami Dolphins: WR90 Odell Beckham Jr. (Ranked 13.7 Spots Higher Than ADP)

This is another team where the public overvalues the top options, so we need to dig deeper to find value. While we do rank Tua Tagovailoa higher than his ADP, the biggest Dolphins value is actually Odell Beckham Jr.

Miami is loaded with talent, but Beckham, as the WR3, benefits from the Dolphins’ fast pace of play. They are likely to spread the ball around, making Beckham a viable late-round pick (we have him at No. 198 overall, while his ADP is 211.7).

New England Patriots: WR81 Kendrick Bourne (Ranked 38.1 Spots Higher Than ADP)

In contrast to the Dolphins, the Patriots lack depth, which is advantageous in Best Ball formats where we can draft their WR1 nearly 40 spots below his expected value.

We rank Kendrick Bourne at 176th overall, while his ADP is 214.1. Public perception places Demario Douglas 49.1 spots higher than Bourne and Ja’Lynn Polk 75.7 spots higher. While we also rank Bourne third among these receivers, he is only 14 spots behind Douglas and 33 spots behind Polk.

The Patriots’ wide receiver situation is unpredictable right now, with Bourne listed as the top receiver on the depth chart. Until we know who their quarterback is going to be this year, there are a ton of different potential outcomes from this receiver group.

New York Jets: WR70 Malachi Corley (Ranked 24.6 Spots Higher Than ADP)

In an unusual twist, we find ourselves more bullish on a rookie than the general public.

Malachi Corley has an average draft position of 175.6, but we rank him much higher at 151st overall. Perhaps it’s because he’s listed fourth on the depth chart, or maybe concerns about Mike Williams stealing targets are influencing his low ADP. However, Corley benefits from presumably having Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback. Following Corley, the next highest-ranked Jets receiver is Allen Lazard at 225. This suggests Corley could be the clear WR3 option despite his place on the depth chart.

Best Ball Values: AFC West

Denver Broncos: WR75 Marvin Mims Jr. (Ranked 21.1 Spots Higher Than ADP)

Denver’s pass catchers are hitching their hopes to the Bo Nix train, leading to significant disparities between our rankings and public opinion on Broncos wide receivers.

Take Marvin Mims Jr., for instance, our top value pick. We place him at 159th overall, whereas ADP has him at 180.1. Interestingly, rookie Troy Franklin has a higher ADP, but we rank Franklin 64 spots lower than Mims and also below Josh Reynolds. Despite Franklin’s popularity, we believe Mims is poised to become Nix’s second-favorite target after Courtland Sutton.

While Mims had a modest 2023 season (33 catches for 377 yards), his early-second-round draft status last year suggests Denver values him in a rebuilding scenario over a reliable veteran like Reynolds. Moreover, Mims adds value as a punt returner.

Kansas City Chiefs: RB9 Isiah Pacheco (Ranked 6.9 Spots Higher Than ADP)

The Chiefs are benefiting from the defending champion status (and having Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback), leading to inflated ADP values for many players. In fact, we rate almost everyone outside of the top 3 Chiefs players lower than their ADP.

Among Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco, Pacheco offers the most value. He ranks as our No. 38 overall player compared to an ADP of 44.9. Pacheco has emerged as the clear fantasy standout among Chiefs running backs, elevating him to our No. 8 RB in the NFL based on expected usage.

Las Vegas Raiders: RB18 Zamir White (Ranked 7.6 Spots Higher Than ADP)

It’s disappointing to see what’s expected for the Raiders’ pass catchers. From Davante Adams to Brock Bowers and beyond, there’s undeniable talent but perhaps too much optimism given the uncertainties at quarterback. Consequently, we don’t have many Raiders ranked higher than their ADP, and Zamir White is the best value of the bunch.

While White is clearly the RB1 in Vegas, he may not be a league-winning player. However, his ADP of 87.6 is 7.6 spots lower than our ranking of No. 80, offering some value about half a round later than expected. Overall, this team might be best avoided in fantasy drafts.

Los Angeles Chargers: WR46 Joshua Palmer (Ranked 26.7 Spots Higher Than ADP)

The Chargers may not be overflowing with value, but Joshua Palmer stands out as a promising option. He’s ranked within the top 80 players but is going at an average draft position of 107.2.

Palmer finds himself as the top wide receiver for the Chargers, largely due to Quentin Johnson’s struggles last season and the departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Additionally, he benefits from having a talented quarterback and an experienced offensive coach, so Palmer could see a significant increase in targets.
