The NBA returns as the Finals tip in Boston with the Celtics and Mavericks in action. It feels like a month’s time has passed since the last professional basketball game, but here we are with some decent value to attack on Sleeper! Jaylen Brown M/L Than 24.5 Points
Despite his best efforts the spotlight has yet to truly shift to Jaylen Brown, as Jayson Tatum still commands most of the attention. There is nothing wrong with this dynamic duo on or off the floor, but we expect a small amount of regression from Brown scoring tonight against Dallas. While neither team is truly interested in slowing down the pace, the Celtics have some other advantages on the floor that could limit mass volume going to Brown. The return of Kristaps Porzingis makes it tougher for anyone to truly dominate with shot attempts, as the Celtics big man has a massive advantage stretching the floor.
The Celtics will look a little more well-rounded tonight, and don’t be shocked to see some solid backcourt performances from both Derrick White and Jrue Holiday. Boston is going to want to press the tempo on the Dallas guards, forcing them to play both ways all night. Brown should be fine in the rebounding market but should be impacted — even more than Tatum — by role players (non-stars) simply producing more on the floor at home.

Al Horford M/L Than 5.5 Rebounds
All roads lead back to Porzingis. With his return there’s just no need to force feed minutes to Al Horford, which should limit his overall production. The Mavericks have a tough frontcourt that should provide actual resistance, unlike the makeshift Cavaliers lineups minus their starting center or the Pacers. Horford may simply not be out there enough to gather six boards. While he can certainly knock down that comfortable corner shot, with Porzingis back it makes more sense for the Celtics to broaden their rotations, not locking Horford into the 4 either in a larger lineup.
Dallas is a tougher matchup up front to grab boards than Indiana. Horford wasn’t dominating the glass against the Pacers by any means, and that’s with the added time on the floor without Porzingis. It’s a tricky spot for Boston because of how old Horford is and how much he’s played this year. They aren’t going to burn him out in one game — they don’t need to, so it makes more sense to space out his minutes over a few games. The change in rotation and limited minutes are enough to drop below this total.
