It’s never easy riding an under PRA play into overtime. We got burned on Derrick White and still hit the Tyrese Haliburton play despite the added time. The Western Conference gets our full attention as the Mavericks are in Minnesota for Game 1 of their series. Luka Doncic is not on the injury report and Kyrie Irving looks rejuvenated after his last performance. Things get a little tougher as the Wolves boast one of the best defenses seen in the league over the past few years, and have a guy in Anthony Edwards capable of torching anyone. Anthony Edwards M/L Than 11.5 Rebounds + Assists
It’s hard not to marvel at the motor pumping life into Anthony Edwards, be it his incredible talent to hoop or talk. He’s a superstar, one of the faces of the NBA and could go for 40 on any night. He may even do it tonight, hence me staying away from the “P” in Points + Rebounds + Assists. It should be a slower night for Edwards not because of anything Dallas does, at least primarily, rather the help he will get. It’s a home opener where the Wolves are better off getting help from Karl-Anthony Towns, Michael Conley, and Jaden McDaniels. They just went from overpowering the Denver Nuggets versus the Mavericks who are stepping up to face a tougher opponent on defense.
The Wolves can easily control the tempo of this game, although Dallas will try and push with a healthy Doncic. It’s not the easiest matchup for Edwards but he finds ways to get up a bunch of shots. We like a slugfest; one dictated by a slower tempo that sees less possessions in the game. With a player in Edwards with his shot volume, it’s hard to think he will have enough passing opportunities to eclipse this number. We look to Doncic or anyone else charged with slowing down Edwards in having a slight edge on the glass. Take LESS than 11.5 Rebounds + Assists.

Mike Conley M/L Than 1.5 Made Threes
Speaking of help, that’s where we find Mike Conley’s made threes market on Sleeper. The play leans on Conley being more aggressive against Irving and this Mavericks back court. With so much focus on KAT and Edwards, there will be tremendous spacing opportunities for Conley to get the ball back for a good look from deep. We saw his volume increase over time against Denver, taking 5+ in each of the last four games. The Wolves are better with the threat of Conley taking these shots, so we expect him to get some early looks in the game.
Conley shot nearly 45% from three over Minnesota’s seven game series with Denver, mostly as a result of shot volume and quality looks. The Wolves aren’t passing the ball around until the clock winds down, asking him to heave a prayer. There are designed sets that have Conley as third option, or even second depending on how Dallas plays Edwards on ball. We won’t ask for 10+ attempts from three, he doesn’t have that in his bag, but we should expect another quality over quantity night from deep, pushing MORE than 1.5 made threes.
