PGA DFS Picks: Top Values for the Tour Championship (2024)

PGA DFS: Tour Championship Tournament Preview

The course is a Donald Ross design playing to a par 71 at 7,490 yards with narrow fairways and Bermuda greens, and it will test every aspect of golfers’ game. Since the format’s introduction in 2019, no player starting below 4 under par has won, making precise approach play, efficient putting on Bermuda greens and total driving key factors to acknowledge when selecting players to add into your PGA DFS lineups this week.

PGA DFS Picks: Top Values

Billy Horschel

DFS Salary
DraftKings: $7,100
FanDuel: $
8,800

Billy Horschel has hit his stride since missing the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open in July. Since then, he’s secured three top-10 finishes and placed 22nd at the BMW Championship last week.

He’s played 24 rounds at East Lake, with an average adjusted strokes gained of +2.20 at this course. In his last 20 rounds, Horschel ranks eighth among this week’s competition in strokes gained on approach, 11th in driving accuracy and 15th in strokes gained putting.

According to our PGA Top Golfers Tool, on DraftKings, Horschel ranks in the top 10 for optimal percentage, indicating how often a player appears in the optimal lineup based on our simulations. Let’s look for Horschel to keep the momentum going on the links for one more week.

PGA DFS Picks: Top Values

Russell Henley

DFS Salary
DraftKings: $7,400
FanDuel: $8,600

The 35-year-old is returning to his home state of Georgia to make one final push in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He finished -5 at TPC Southwind and then -4 last week at Castle Pines Golf Club.

Last year, Henley tied for 14th at East Lake, and he’s played a total of 12 rounds here. His average adjusted strokes gained at this course is +2.44, placing him top 10 among this week’s contenders. Given the course’s narrow fairways and Bermuda greens, Henley — who ranks sixth in good drive percentage (81.15%) this season and ninth in strokes gained putting on Bermuda greens over his last 36 rounds — should perform well.

Our PGA Top Golfers Tool ranks Henley in the top 5 for optimal percentage on both DraftKings and FanDuel. In a familiar setting, with a course that plays to his strengths, Henley sets up as a quality inclusion to your DFS lineups.

PGA DFS Picks: Top Values

Aaron Rai

DFS Salary
DraftKings: $6,400
FanDuel: $8,300

A look at Aaron Rai’s stats suggest he could be an excellent fit for this course. This season, Rai ranks first in good drive percentage, third in bogey avoidance and fifth in both strokes gained approach and strokes gained on par 4’s.

Additionally, tools like course fit adjustments, which compare courses based on golfers’ attributes to predict who might perform well, show Rai at the very top for total strokes gained adjustment at East Lake Golf Club, according to DataGolf.com.

In his last nine tournaments, Rai has tallied seven top-20 finishes, including an outright win and three top-10s. If his style of play aligns as I’m expecting, we could see the Englishman climbing up the ranks by Sunday.
