NFL DFS Week 2 Projections, Ownership & More
Quarterbacks (QBs)
Jayden Daniels ($6,200) is emerging as the top value QB on the Week 2 slate by a wide margin. After putting up impressive rushing numbers last week (16 carries, 88 yards, and 2 TDs), he’s expected to be highly owned, projected at 12%. His rushing upside makes him a must-consider, especially against the New York Giants.
Coming in at No, 2 for quarterback value is Daniel Jones ($5,300), offering solid savings. Among the top-priced options, Dak Prescott projects the worst at 20.4 fantasy points but has an intriguing low ownership projection of just 3%, making him a possible contrarian play.
On the high end, Lamar Jackson faces the Raiders and is the top projected QB at 23.61 fantasy points, making him a strong candidate for both cash games and GPPs.
Running Backs (RBs)
At running back, Jordan Mason ($5,200) is hard to avoid. He’s currently the top value on the slate and will likely remain such if Christian McCaffrey is ruled out as is expected. Last week, Mason exploded for 28 carries, 147 yards, and 1 TD. The 49ers, 6-point favorites against Minnesota, could lean on him heavily. Expect his ownership to skyrocket if McCaffrey is a no-go.
Another running back expected to see heavy ownership is Breece Hall ($7,400), who is set to face the Titans as 3.5-point favorites. An early Hall-Mason combo is likely to be popular due to their value.
For contrarian running back plays, Jonathan Taylor (8.5% ownership) faces a favorable matchup against the Packers, while Derrick Henry (5%) is also an intriguing GPP option against the Raiders. As always with running backs, even if we’re only hanging around here early with our NFL DFS Week 2 data, keep an eye on injury reports through the week and more so closer to kick.
Wide Receivers (WRs)
At wide receiver, Demarcus Robinson ($4,000) offers standout value. With Puka Nacua sidelined, Robinson should see an increased target share in a favorable matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. His GPP-winning upside is hard to ignore, and he’s projected at 15.4% ownership.
The chalk at the top will be CeeDee Lamb ($8,800) and Cooper Kupp ($7,600). Both project to see significant ownership due to strong value at running back, which makes paying up at wide receiver more feasible. They’re currently ranked as the No. 1 and No. 3 options on the slate.
If you’re looking for low-owned, high-upside wideouts, consider Justin Jefferson (5.7%) and Ja’Marr Chase (6.3%). Both are in elite spots for large-field tournaments.
Tight Ends (TEs)
The tight end position is highlighted by value play Colby Parkinson ($3,100), who led the position in routes run and ranked fifth in targets in Week 1. At a projected 11% ownership, Parkinson offers great salary relief.
Jordan Akins ($3,000) also grades out as a strong value, particularly since David Njoku is out. Among the top-tier options, Travis Kelce ($6,200) is once again the safest bet, with 16.58 projected fantasy points and 16.9% ownership. For contrarian plays, Sam LaPorta (7% ownership) is a viable option to differentiate your lineups.
Defense/Special Teams (DST)
Unlike Week 1, DST ownership appears to be fairly flat for Week 2, with no team projected above 6.5%. The best value defenses early on are the Titans (vs. NYJ) and Cardinals (vs. LAR), both offering potential upside at reasonable prices.
NFL DFS Week 2 Projections Conclusion
NFL DFS Week 2 is shaping up to be another exciting slate with a variety of value plays and contrarian options to consider. Keep an eye on injury reports throughout the week, as some value plays, especially at RB, could become even more crucial as news breaks.
Stay flexible, and good luck with your NFL DFS Week 2 lineups!
