NFL DFS: An Interview With Milly Maker Winner (And Stokastic User) rsbathla

Ever we here at Stokastic launched our DFS Contest Simulation tools, they have been nothing short of a game-changer. Pros and DFS dilletantes alike have been crushing it, racking up wins of all sizes — including more than a handful of Milly Maker winners. Well, we get to add another one of those $1 million purses to the bank of Stokastic subscriber wins, as our friend rsbathla recently took one down in DraftKings NFL DFS — and is ready to tell you exactly how it happened with the help of the Sims!

Let’s break down how our cutting-edge Sims helped them climb to the top of the podium — and how you can join the action.

Interview With NFL DFS Milly Maker Winner rsbathla: How They Used Sims

Rather than breaking down the intricacies of rsbathla’s winning lineup, we discussed the strategy used — in particular with the Sims — for their entire lineup-building process.

Since we know MME is the best strategy, general speaking, for winning tournaments like the Milly Maker, one single lineup’s results are not nearly as important as breaking down the process on a macro level. Without further ado, here is our interview with Milly winner rsbathla.

When did you get into DFS? How long have you been a Stokastic subscriber?

I got into DFS 2015-2016, but I started taking it seriously around 2021. I have been a Stokastic Subscriber for a year now, where I primarily use the Sims product. I should probably start reading the articles too because you have a lot of sharp people!

Editor’s note: We DO have a lot of sharp people! Check out our NFL DFS articles to see for yourself.

Was this your first Milly win? What’s the closest you’ve gotten before?

This was my first Milly win! I have been top 3 in the high-stakes Milly Makers several times in both football and basketball, but primarily football.

What are the sports and contest types you play most often?

I am primarily a GPP player. I play both football and basketball, but this year I will be looking to play golf and MLB as well. Basketball includes both NBA and WNBA.

How many lineups did you enter for your winning entry?

I entered the max — 150 lineups — and I think I had 10% Bo Nix since I boosted him and Marvin Mims a lot.

What ROI boosts look like in Stokastic’s NFL DFS Sims

What sort of Sims strategy do you/did you favor (settings, ROI boosts, etc.)?

I do use the Sims heavily. I play around with it a lot, and I think there is a lot of promise with the product. I basically use all strategies, but one that I use the most is ROI boosts. I will first go through the slate to see who do I like, who am I targeting. From there I build my own projections and input them into the sims. After that, I will look at what the top 150 naturally gives me for exposures and then adjust using ROI boosts. Finally, I hand select the lineups I like since I am usually maxing out the total number of players I have.

Are there any other strategic moves you made that you can share?

I think the best thing to do is NEVER use optimal from a site. So many people will look at that and then just play it because it looks good. Have conviction in some play and do your own research.
