NBA Lineup Optimizer Advice
The process kicks off by selecting three key options. First, pick your desired DFS slate between DraftKings main and FanDuel Main.
Next, choose your ownership setting. I usually opt for contrarian lineups because I enjoy playing GPPs, but you can also select from all lineups, chalky lineups or balanced lineups.
Lastly, you have the option to lock in a player based on optimal percentage, projection or boom percentage. You can also skip this step if you’d like.
Today I selected DraftKings Main, contrarian lineups and skip. You can see here that the boom percentage option really likes Joel Embiid and Domantas Sabonis, so keep an eye on lineups with them in it. If you’re playing cash games like double-ups or three-mans, you could also select balanced or chalky for better projected lineups.
You can get some of the same players in all types of lineups. As long as you adjust the uniqueness based on the size and type of contest you’re playing, it’s all good.
After saving 20 lineups, the highest exposures I ended with were 95% Chris Paul, 70% Trayce Jackson-Davis and 40% Marcus Smart. Here’s a sample of a lineup that resulted from these selections.
This lineup projects for 257.12 points and includes Paul, Smart, and Jackson-Davis. It also includes 18.4%-owned Domantas Sabonis and 9.9%-owned DeMar DeRozan. The lineup uses all $50,000 in salary and has a good balance of projection and uniqueness with two players under 10% owned. I like this lineup for large-field GPPs and single-entry tournaments.

It’s important to note these exposures are based completely off my settings. As a reminder, you can change between lineup builds and save lineups along the way. In total, I had 20 lineups saved in less than five minutes. That’s what makes this such a great NBA DFS tool for newer players and players who don’t have enough time to research +EV plays before lock.
For once, the injury list is limited to just one questionable player (Markelle Fultz) however, if we do get any last minute news we are in good hands. Projections are updated automatically for us, so if anyone were to get ruled out, just run the generator again and you get a +EV lineup.
