NBA Lineup Optimizer Advice
The process kicks off by selecting three key options. First, pick your desired DFS slate between DraftKings main and FanDuel Main.
Next, choose your ownership setting. I usually opt for contrarian lineups because I enjoy playing GPPs, but you can also select from all lineups, chalky lineups or balanced lineups.
Lastly, you have the option to lock in a player based on optimal percentage, projection or boom percentage. You can also skip this step if you’d like.
Today I selected DraftKings Main, contrarian and skip. You can see here that the optimal percentage really likes Marvin Bagley III and Gary Trent Jr. so we should see these guys in a bunch of lineups. If you’re playing cash games like double-ups or three-mans, you could also select balanced or chalky for better projected lineups.
You can get some of the same players in all types of lineups. As long as you adjust the uniqueness based on the size and type of contest you’re playing, it’s all good.
After saving 20 lineups, the highest exposures I ended with were 55% Zach LaVine, 55% Gregory Jackson and 50% Patrick Williams.
Here’s a sample of a lineup that resulted from these selections.
This lineup projects for 273.19 points and includes LaVine, Jackson, and Williams. This lineup gets unique with an 4.7%-owned Naz Reid, who should get more minutes tonight with a blowout on the horizon for the Timberwolves as they take on a depleted Memphis squad. The lineup uses all $50,000 in salary and has a nice balance of projection and uniqueness. With the top 3 optimal plays and two low owned Bulls players, I like this lineup for single-entry tournaments. On a small slate like tonight, I’ll look through a few other lineups to get a bit more unique for large-field GPPs.
Exposure for the 20 lineups I saved:
It’s important to note these exposures are based completely off my settings. As a reminder, you can change between lineup builds and save lineups along the way. In total, I had 20 lineups saved in less than five minutes. That’s what makes this such a great NBA DFS tool for newer players and players who don’t have enough time to research +EV plays before lock.
Aaron Nesmith and Bennedict Mathurin are questionable for Indiana and if they were to sit it will open up a ton of value with Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam already ruled out tonight. Lucky for us, lineup generator projections are updated automatically, so just run the generator closer to lock and we will get a +EV lineup to cash in tonight. It also makes it easy to export your lineups to CSV file, so you can just point and click to upload them to DraftKings.
