NBA Lineup Optimizer Advice
The process kicks off by selecting three key options. First, pick your desired DFS slate between DraftKings main and FanDuel Main.
Next, choose your ownership setting. I usually opt for contrarian lineups because I enjoy playing GPPs, but you can also select from all lineups, chalky lineups or balanced lineups.
Lastly, you have the option to lock in a player based on optimal percentage, projection or boom percentage. You can also skip this step if you’d like.
Today I selected DraftKings Main, contrarian and skip. You can see here that the boom percentage really likes Kyrie Irving with no Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis versus Phoenix, so keep an eye on lineups with those two. If you’re playing cash games like double-ups or three-mans, you could also select balanced or chalky for better projected lineups.
You can get some of the same players in all types of lineups. As long as you adjust the uniqueness based on the size and type of contest you’re playing, it’s all good.
After saving 20 lineups, the highest exposures I ended with were 100% Jaden Hardy, 65% Tim Hardaway Jr. and 65% Irving. It’s ride or die with Dallas tonight.
Here’s a sample of a lineup that resulted from these selections.
This lineup projects for 272.89 points and includes the max of five players from Dallas. Besides the top 3 most exposed, we also have Derrick Jones Jr. and Seth Curry at 13.6% owned.
This lineup gets unique with an 8.9%-owned Devin Booker and projects well with Anthony Davis who is expected to score 57 fantasy points at 29.8%-owned versus the Suns. The lineup uses all $50,000 in salary and has a good balance of projection and uniqueness. I like this lineup for single-entry tournaments and large-field GPPs.

It’s important to note these exposures are based completely off my settings. As a reminder, you can change between lineup builds and save lineups along the way. In total, I had 20 lineups saved in less than five minutes. With just four games today we only have two players listed questionable, LeBron James and Cam Reddish from the Lakers. The absence of Reddish normally would not impact lineups much, but on such a small slate we need to take advantage of every edge we can get. Lucky for us, lineup generator projections are updated automatically, so if LeBron or Reddish do get ruled out, just run the generator again, and boom, a +EV lineup at your fingertips.
