TWO NBA DFS Binks in a Week With Our Tools: DFS Winning Lineups
Stokastic user cwood_3 joined the Hall of Fame with a Nov. 11 DraftKings NBA DFS win, bagging $2,000 in the Single Entry contest. It was a bold strategy — using the Sims to build 150 lineups for MME then choosing one to throw into the Single Entry. Alas, cwood_3 made a good choice with this lineup; that’s a lot of players with flames.
The Post-Contest Simulator — which, by the way, is a great way to study your lineups after the fact — helps us compare the pre-contest simulations with post-contest results, and suffice it to say, this lineup outperformed its simulations:
Pre-contest, this lineup did earn positive simulated ROI at 8.7%, but that is on the lower side. That said, 16 of the top 20 lineups in the actual contest also simulated positively pre-contest, which is a testament to how the Sims evaluated this Nov. 11 slate.
The Jeremiah Robinson-Earl pick in particular was a special one, as Robinson-Earl didn’t simulate that well pre-contest (-60.5% ROI). But since he had only 2.6% ownership, the Sims still included him in cwood_3’s lineup, and Robinson-Early returned 330% on investment for this slate.
Of course, after cwood_3 had such a great time with the Sims, they went back to the well and binked ANOTHER contest for $10,000, this time on FanDuel.
Once again, seemingly every player in their lineup had flames shooting out of their behind, as they caught De’Aaron Fox, R.J. Barrett, Brandon Ingram AND rookie Dalton Knecht all having massive games on the same night.
By the way, Your Ol’ Pal EMac touted Fox as one of his featured players for that slate, and he also recommended Kevin Huerter as a strong play with DeMar DeRozan out that night. Cwood_3, meanwhile, trusted the Sims and took home $12,000 from their wins alone in just a six-day period.
