NBA DFS Picks & Building Blocks Today: Sunday, April 7

NBA DFS Picks: Building Blocks

Victor Wembanyama: Spurs vs. 76ers

Stokastic’s Fantasy Point Projections
DraftKings: 55.97 | FanDuel: 56.21

DraftKings: $11,000 | FanDuel: $11,800

Rookie Victor Wembanyama will not be battling Joel Embiid, as the reigning NBA MVP is getting a day off after playing last night in Memphis.

San Antonio is listed as 3.5-point underdogs, but this is a winnable game, even with Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan done for the season.

In his last 15 games, the presumptive Rookie of the Year has averaged 32 minutes with 17.5 field goal attempts. This has culminated in 23.1 points, 12.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists and a wicked 5.4 “stocks” (combined blocks and steals). The 20-year-old French phenom has played 33.8 or more minutes in three of his last four appearances, so we can still justify rolling him out as a mainstay in most lineups, even with the increased salary cap hit.

Tobias Harris (knee) and Tyrese Maxey (hip) are questionable, but with the close point spread, at least the latter should be playing tonight. Philadelphia has won four straight and is now only one game behind the Indiana Pacers for the No. 6 seed and 2.5 games out of fourth. While it is unlikely the 76ers end up with homecourt advantage, they should be able to climb out of the Play-In Tournament.

Kyle Lowry also is getting a rest day, so whoever fills out the first five for Philly is a strong play. Kelly Oubre, Buddy Hield and Paul Reed should see increased opportunities and/or minutes.

Draymond Green: Warriors vs. Jazz

Stokastic’s Fantasy Point Projections
DraftKings: 35.62 | FanDuel: 34.98
Stokastic’s Rostership Projections
DraftKings: 42.7% | FanDuel: 18.2%
DFS Salary
DraftKings: $6,100 | FanDuel: $7,200

Steph Curry is getting game off, but the Warriors are still favored by double-digits against the visiting Utah Jazz, who are mailing it in for the remainder of the season having shut down or lost to “injury” an entire starting lineup of Lauri Markkanen, John Collins, Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson and Kris Dunn.

Jonathan Kuminga (knee) is questionable, so it looks like Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Chris Paul will be carrying the load tonight.

If Kuminga starts, he is a strong option, though it would be a surprise for any of the Golden State key players to log more than 32 minutes. The team is two games behind the Sacramento Kings and four games ahead of the Houston Rockets, who are all but mathematically eliminated from the Play-In Tournament. While the ‘Dubs would love to not have to win two games on the road to make the postseason, they won’t be going far anyway if their players are not healthy.

It is hard to be overly excited about anyone for the Jazz, since Omer Yurtseven (21.1) was the only starter to play more than 19 minutes and neither he nor Collin Sexton played the final 18 minutes of the game. Johnny Juzang (31.7) and Darius Bazley (33.5) led the team in playing time off the bench, but there is no comfort in that either.

Sexton, Yurtseven, Keyonte George and rookies Brice Sensabaugh and Taylor Hendricks are in play for tournaments, but any could easily find themselves shorted on the playing time front, depending on the whims of coach Will Hardy.

Today’s Top Sports Betting Pick

Donte DiVincenzo had a nice run while the Knicks were running shorthanded, but we can still target against him for the under on his 25.5 points + rebounds + assists (PRA) prop.

Currently, this wager is available at -105 on BetMGM, which is a great value when comparing it against the -120 to -125 on most other books. With “sharp” book Pinnacle posting a -132 line that is absolutely punitive by comparison

By using OddsShopper to do the heavy lifting when researching favorable bets, we can quickly spot inefficient lines like this one, and having accounts at multiple sportsbooks allows us to pivot to the best number quickly.

Per the true odds of -118 (how OddsShopper measures the potential expected ROI of a given wager), this opportunity has a tasty 5.6% positive expected ROI as a function of the inefficient line.

NBA Bet Pro currently has DiVincenzo projected for 32.8 minutes, 18.52 points, 4.28 rebounds and 3.02 assists for a 25.82 PRA. While that is just above the threshold, it does not account for a varied range of actual outcomes and this wager has a 54% expected win rate. DiVincenzo could still cruise past this mark if he is raining down threes, but with the Knicks mostly healthy, he is back to being a tertiary option.
