NBA DFS Picks & Building Blocks Today: Wednesday, March 20
NBA DFS Picks: Building Blocks
Domantas Sabonis: Kings at Raptors
Stokastic’s Fantasy Point Projections
DraftKings: 56.79 | FanDuel: 53.14
Stokastic’s Rostership Projections
DraftKings: 20.9% | FanDuel: 21.8%
DFS Salary
DraftKings: $10,700 | FanDuel: $10,900
Of the eight games on the slate, seven have 9.5 or great spreads, with only the Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers game looking competitive with the teams separated by just a bucket. However, that tilt has a 204.5 projected point total, which is not a great ingredient for a DFS masterpiece.
The Raptors already putrid defense is running out of bodies as Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett are each away from the team attending to personal matters, while Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl and Chris Boucher are out with injuries. That has the Sacramento Kings 10.5 point road favorites, though they are still going to need to take care of business. On Monday, the kings were pushed to overtime by the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, who like the Raptors, also have a sparse rotation.
Domantas Sabonis continues to have a career season, averaging just over 50 fantasy points per game for the first time. Last year he won the NBA rebounding title with 12.3 per game and has taken that up to a personal-best 13.7 per game. Oh and he is averaging 8.3 assists and 20.1 points, while also leading the league with 23 triple-doubles.
The Kings are currently tied with the Dallas Mavericks, though Sacramento has the tie-breaker, so they are technically the sixth seed and avoiding the Play-In Tournament. Every game is going to be crucial, so we should see the team continue fighting hard to stay above the scrum.
De’Aaron Fox (25.1%) and Malik Monk (37.1%) are actually more popular than Sabonis (20.9%) on DraftKings. The Rebound King has the slight edge on FanDuel, where his power forward eligibility enhances his prospects for ending up in the optimal lineup.
Keon Ellis is likely to be tabbed for the spot-start in place of the injured Kevin Huerter, plus he should also be in line for mop-up duty if the game plays out in accordance with the spread.
Toronto is well represented in the projected player popularity rankings with Bruce Brown Jr., Gradey Dick, Ochai Agbaji, Jordan Nwora, Kelly Olynyk, Gary Trent Jr. and Jontay Porter each “neutral” options on every DFS site, while surging up the list based on the various scoring formats, salary cap assignments and position eligibility.
Cade Cunningham: Pistons vs. Pacers
Stokastic’s Fantasy Point Projections
DraftKings: 41.95 | FanDuel: 39.82
Stokastic’s Rostership Projections
DraftKings: 19.1% | FanDuel: 10.7%
DFS Salary
DraftKings: $7900 | FanDuel: $8500
Cade Cunningham had a maintenance day and missed the last game as he is managing knee soreness. The Pistons are well versed in the “art of the tank” so expect to see key players getting days off down the stretch.
This is a home game and a favorable matchup against the Indiana Pacers, which makes it seem realistic to expect something in the 32-to-33 minute range for Cunningham.
In a fun twist, in his last six home games, Cunningham has been right in this range, with one game of 38 minutes and one of 27.5. We should be picking up what the Pistons are putting down as they attempt to make fans happy, while also making an effort to develop, yet protect their young players at the same time. Ausar Thompson is still out with an illness and Isaiah Stewart will be missing at least the next week with a hamstring strain. Simone Fontecchio is questionable and Quentin Grimes has been ruled out, so keep tabs for other potential value options, depending on who makes the starting lineup.

Today’s Top Sports Betting Pick
Even with Giannis Antetokoumpo out, Brook Lopez is still someone to target for the under on his 5.5 rebounds prop, which is looking like a great wager at -107 on Sugar House and at -109 on BetRivers and Hard Rock..
By using OddsShopper to do the heavy lifting when researching favorable bets, we can quickly spot inefficient lines like this one, and having accounts at multiple sports books allows us to pivot to the best number quickly.
Per the true odds of -119 (how OddsShopper measures the potential expected ROI of a given wager), this opportunity has a terrific 5.0% positive expected ROI as a function of the inefficient line.
NBA Bet Pro currently has Lopez projected for 28.4 minutes and 5.44 rebounds. Over his last 10 games he has topped this threshold four times, though two of those were with six boards and he had seven in each of his two most recent games. Boston will likely rest some of their players again, but the Celtics are still a good rebounding team and with the Bucks double-digit underdogs, it is a longshot to see Lopez play more than 25-to-27 minutes if this is a non-competitive game.
