After losing on Sunday night, against a thinned out Memphis squad, Milwaukee elected to take a “schedule loss” on Monday, resting all of their key contributors. Tonight the Bucks are looking to end their four-game skid against the Hornets in Charlotte.
Khris Middleton has been traded for Kyle Kuzma, which will somewhat be mitigated by the return of Bobby Portis (personal), who was away from the team for the last six games.
Antetokounmpo (knee) and Damian Lillard (groin) are questionable, but with the Bucks listed as double-digit road favorites, it makes sense that they are playing. Even without LaMelo Ball, the Hornets have been frisky, and though they are 1-6 in the last seven games, six of the losses were by 10 points or less, with the average being half that.
Currently, Antetokounmpo is averaging a personal-best 31.8 points per game, trailing only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (32.5). This has him producing fantasy points like they are going out of style, at a level on par with his two MVP campaigns half a decade ago. Anything less than 60 fantasy points tonight will be considered a disappointment, with Antetokounmpo having cleared that milestone in each of his last four outings.
Lillard is a secondary tournament options, with Ryan Rollins, AJ Green, Andrew Jackson Jr. and Taurean Prince in play if one or both of the stalwarts is out.
Mark Williams has utility tonight, with most gamers looking to shoehorn in two of Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama and Nikola Jokic. Williams has 49-plus fantasy points in seven of his last nine games, averaging 32.2 minutes, 21.6 points, 12.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 combined blocks and steals. This includes top performances against a variety of defensive pivot-men, which has been fun to watch.
The drumbeat is that Olynyk may start and now that Boucher has been declared available, there are more pitfalls for Mogbo. Be nimble and enjoy the power forward eligibility of Olynyk on FanDuel. DraftKings punt du jour is likely to be Jonathan Mogbo who is at the minimum salary of $3,000, while having power forward and center eligibility. Jakob Poeltl (hip/trade candidate) is out, while Chris Boucher is questionable, having missed the last game with an illness. RJ Barrett (concussion) and Immanuel Quickley (hip) are out, so that means more offensive opportunities are earmarked for Scottie Barnes and Gradey Dick. Kelly Olynyk is another discount dandy, who will be sharing frontcourt minutes with Mogbo. Look to the long-haired Canadian on FanDuel ($4,000) where he has power forward eligibility. He is a viable option on DraftKings ($3,300) as well, though there are so many centers, it is hard to give him one of the two available roster slots.

Anthony Edwards: Timberwolves vs. Bulls

For those of you playing on FanDuel, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Devin Booker are doing battle in Oklahoma City, with Kevin Durant being held out with some vague injury as he is in trade talks.
DraftKings is eschewing the final two games on the docket, so Anthony Edwards is the premiere luxury option at the guard position.
Julius Randle (adductor) and Donte DiVincenzo (toe) are out through the All-Star Break, which means extra opportunities will be absorbed by the first five, with Rob Dillingham and Nickeil Alexander-Walker getting an uplift as well.
Through the first 33 games of the season, Edwards was averaging 36.1 minutes and 19.8 field goal attempts, with a 44.0% success rate. This worked out to 24.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.8 combined blocks and steals. Great, but not excellent. In his last 16 games, that has increased to 38.0 minutes, 21.3 field goal attempts (45.6%), 30.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.9 combined blocks and steals. The 23-year-old is not even close to his prime and we should expect him to be challenging for the scoring title in a year or two.
Chicago is looking to move anything that is not nailed down, but the remaining regulars are not going quietly into the night. The Bulls have won three of the last five games, including a strong 133-124 victory over the muddling Miami Heat. Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins and Tre Jones are unlikely to play before the weekend, Lonzo Ball will probably sit tonight, on the back-to-back and of course Nikola Vucevic is a trade candidate himself, so he could be a late scratch.
Minnesota still has a strong defense, but the Bulls have several intriguing fantasy point per dollar options, with Coby White, Josh Giddey, rookie Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey leading the way.
Today’s Top Sports Betting Pick
Miles Bridges is popping in the model for the under on his 8.5 rebounds prop tonight against the Bucks in Milwaukee.
The screenshot of Portfolio EV shows that this wager projects to win 57% of the time. That combined with the -109 odds on SugarHouse, BetRivers and Unibet, leading to a phenomenal 9.3% expected value when accounting for the -133 “True Odds.”
Stokastic’s Advanced NBA Statistical Projections have Bridges projected for 32.2 minutes and 7.63 rebounds. Bridges has double-digit rebounds in three of his last four games, averaging 10.4 in his most recent five games. In the eight games preceding this stretch, he averaged 6.6 rebounds per game, with nine or more rebounds only twice.
This wager is likely to go down to the wire, but it is important to keep in mind that he is battling not only the Milwaukee frontcourt, but also his rookie teammate Williams.
