NASCAR DFS Picks: Top Drivers for the 2024 Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono

After an exciting race in the rain at the Chicago Street Course, the NASCAR schedule heads to the mountains of Pennsylvania for this year’s Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway. Known as the “Tricky Triangle,” Pocono is a 2.5-mile, mostly flat triangular race track. Its awkward shape can create some issues for drivers as each corenr handles much differently. Without further ado, let’s dive into our top NASCAR DFS picks for the 2024 Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono, including Bubba Wallace.

Although it’s true that Bubba Wallace ($7,600 at DraftKings) has never really excelled at Pocono, he hasn’t really struggled much here before, either. When he was still driving the No. 43 for what’s now Legacy Motor Club, Wallace was routinely right around the top 20, which was good enough for a solid finish in that car. Since joining, 23XI, he has results of 14th, fifth, eighth, and 11th here in Pocono.

Wallace’s consistent speed at Pocono has earned him the third-best average finish of active drivers in the field at 9.5, trailing only Kyle Larson (9) and teammate Tyler Reddick (6). With Wallace likely sharing notes with Reddick and seven-time Pocono winner Denny Hamlin, his team owner, it’ll be difficult for this team to miss on the setup.

In a 160-lap race, dominator points matter less, opening up strategies that focus more on place differential or finishing position. Wait to see where Wallace qualifies. Although he has some good results over the last four, he improved upon his starting position just once, so he will offer far less value with a high starting position.

Austin Cindric

This NASCAR DFS pick is a bit of a bold one, but Austin Cindric ($6,600) has a real shot to be one of the best drivers (at least in terms of DFS) at Pocono on Sunday. This is a large, flat oval — much larger than Gateway, where Cindric won earlier in the season — but with some relatively similar corners. Further, Cindric has won at Pocono in the Xfinity Series.

Cindric’s Xfinity Series resume at this track is far more impressive than what he has put together in Cup. In Xfinity, Cindric racked up one win, two top-5s and three top-10s, leading the led the most laps and winning in his final start, edging out Ty Gibbs, Justin Allgaier and the like. He also led at least one lap in all of his appearances here while never recording a stage finish worse than sixth.

The pricing for Cindric just doesn’t make sense given his equipment. Sure, his P31 here in 2022 and P23 in 2023 don’t paint a great picture, but he’ll cost you less than Michael McDowell ($6,900) and Todd Gilliland ($6,800). Both Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney have led laps early here in the last two seasons despite a lack of results, so it’s not like Team Penske can’t figure out Pocono.

It may be smart to feature Cindric in your lineups and hope for some more Gateway-esque heroics.
