The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Nashville this weekend for the 2024 Ally 400. It’s been a party all weekend, with some current and former Cup Series stars dipping down for the late model race at the Nashville Fairgrounds and the Truck Series race at the superspeedway. Nashville’s rough surface generates a ton of tire wear, which makes this a great track to watch a race at. Without further ado, let’s dive into our top NASCAR DFS picks for the 2024 Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway, including Ty Gibbs.

It’s early, as I’m writing this before practice and qualifying are scheduled for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville, but Ty Gibbs ($8,400 at DraftKings) stands out as an underpriced option.
Nashville is an intermediate that features loads of tire wear, which means it compares favorably to Homestead and Darlington. Gibbs had one of his best races of last season at Homestead and scored a runner-up at Darlington this year.
It’s true that Nashville hasn’t always been kind to Gibbs. In the Xfinity Series, scored a P4 in his debut here. He crashed out in last year’s race before going on to finish P14 in the Cup Series event. It’s an unremarkable resume, but he has some serious upside in my view.
Gibbs scored a P2 in his lone Xfinity Series start at Homestead. He was never dominant at Darlington, but he scored a P6 in his last attempt and had a great run derailed late in 2022. The speed he showed earlier this season at Darlington and the high floor of a Joe Gibbs Racing car are too good for me to leave him out of lineups at $8,400.
Carson Hocevar
Assuming Carson Hocevar ($6,100 at DraftKings) doesn’t qualify too close to the front, he should be a good place differential target for this race. Hocevar generally performs well on tracks that induce high levels of tire wear. He recorded a P17 in the No. 42 then-Chevrolet at Darlington last year before recording a P26 in his No. 77 this year.
Those aren’t great results, but he isn’t in great equipment. In two Truck Series starts at Homestead, Hocevar has a P1 and a P12. In four at Darlington, Hocevar has a P2, P3, P5 and P11.
Hocevar also won last year’s Truck Series race here in Nashville, and, over three starts, he recorded results of P1, P3 and P16. The 21-year-old has all the talent he needs to put a good run together on Sunday — the question is simply whether his equipment will be good enough to let him.
