Masters DFS Picks: How to Attack the Biggest DraftKings PGA DFS Slate of the Year

DraftKings NBA Promo

Hey everyone, Ben Rasa here. It’s finally Masters Week — the biggest event of the PGA season and one of my favorite slates of the year for DraftKings DFS. With a massive $1 million up top in the main contest, this is the time to really dial in and get strategic. This is my look at DraftKings Masters PGA DFS picks, and I want to walk you through how I’m thinking about roster construction with Stokastic’s PGA DFS projections and PGA DFS ownership projections, some of the players I’m targeting and a few lesser-known tactics I’ll be using to get unique in large-field tournaments. Whether you’re playing single entries or maxing out 150 lineups, there’s something here that can help you sharpen your builds.

PGA DFS: Masters DFS Picks for DraftKings

Course Fit and Key Stats at Augusta

I always start with the basics: What does it take to succeed at Augusta National Golf Club?

  • Course familiarity is a big edge. Unlike other majors, the Masters is played at the same course every year. That gives us valuable historical context on players’ performance at Augusta.
  • Elite short game matters. The greens are lightning fast, and scrambling is crucial. Around-the-green play, three-putt avoidance and bogey avoidance are key stats to model.
  • Par 5 scoring is critical. With four scorable par 5’s, players must take advantage. But with many long par 4’s (450 to 500 yards), long iron play becomes equally vital.
  • Driving accuracy isn’t everything. Fairways are generous. Players can club down or be aggressive — both strategies can work.

DFS Roster Construction Tiers

Scheffler Builds: Risky but Rewarding

  • Scottie Scheffler ($12,400) is the most expensive golfer on DraftKings and also the highest projected.
  • Scheffler builds force tough decisions: You’ll often need two players in the $6,000 range, which limits flexibility and can introduce fragility.
  • That said, Scheffler has the skill set to dominate Augusta, so I don’t dismiss the route — I just urge caution and creativity if you go this way.

Rory McIlroy Builds: Balanced and Popular

  • Rory McIlroy is $1,300 cheaper than Scheffler, and I believe that McIlroy plus a $9,000 golfer (like Brooks Koepka or Patrick Cantlay) will be the most popular build this week.
  • Why? It opens up builds that allow four mid-tier players in the $7,000 to $8,000 range — which I believe is full of value.
  • McIlroy’s ownership will be high, so leverage matters. Consider leaving salary on the table or building unique 2v2 swaps off common core plays.

Double Stud Builds (e.g., McIlroy + Rahm or Morikawa)

  • Building with two $10,000-plus golfers is possible (McIlroy + Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa or Ludvig Aberg), but it forces uncomfortable punts.
  • I discourage going McIlroy with Scheffler, calling it nearly unworkable unless you love multiple sub-$6,500 punts — which I don’t.

True Balanced Builds: High Floor, Sneaky Ceiling

  • One of my favorite approaches: Start with no one above $10,000 and build with three $9,000 golfers (e.g., Koepka, Cantlay, Viktor Hovland), then fill in the mid-$7,000 range.
  • This allows maximum flexibility and still captures major-winning upside.
  • It’s less sexy than stud-heavy lineups but could deliver 6-for-6 through the cut, which is essential in the Masters’ smaller field.

Favorite PGA DFS Picks

Here’s a cheat sheet of players I’m eyeing:

Premium Tier:

  • Scottie Scheffler – elite everywhere, but tough to fit.
  • Rory McIlroy – massive narrative (career grand slam), in form and easier to build around.

$9,000–$10,000 Range:

  • Brooks Koepka – majors specialist, under-owned with upside.
  • Patrick Cantlay – struggled Sunday but has Augusta pedigree and fits the course.
  • Collin Morikawa – strong long irons, good form, great price.

Mid-Tier Values:

  • Joaquin Niemann – polarizing LIV player with upside.
  • Hideki Matsuyama – past winner, great ball-striker.
  • Tony Finau, Russell Henley – make great balanced-build anchors.

Low-Owned Differentiators:

  • Adam Scott – solid Augusta history, good form.
  • Sergio Garcia – sneaky course horse, can be included in balanced builds.
  • Byeong Hun An – under-the-radar sleeper I like at the bottom of the pool.
  • Taylor Pendrith, Cameron Davis – high-risk, high-reward scorers for GPPs.

Additional Masters DFS Tips

  • Don’t ignore the $6,000 range — even if you don’t need it for salary, there’s value and low ownership here.
  • Consider no-$7,000 builds (4 players $8,000+, 2 punts). It’s weird but unique and viable.
  • Play the ownership game. Know which constructions are popular and find leverage via 2v2 swaps or leaving salary unused.
  • Avoid overstacking narratives (e.g. all LIV, all short game, all bombers). Add correlation, but keep flexibility.
