Preseason Week 1 NFL DFS Picks for Colts-Broncos & Cowboys-Rams

Preseason Week 1 Sunday News & Notes
The Colts starters are expected to play for one or two series, while the Broncos are likely to do the same. Sean McVay typically does not play his starters extensively during the preseason. For the Broncos, Jarrett Stidham will start today, with Bo Nix slated to start the next game. Playing time today is expected to be fairly evenly divided among Stidham, Nix and Zach Wilson.
The Rams have only two quarterbacks on their roster, with Stetson Bennett anticipated to receive more snaps than Dresser Winn, who will be less owned. Similarly, the Cowboys also have only two quarterbacks, and Trey Lance is expected to play more.
The Cowboys running back situation is quite thin, making it an excellent opportunity to target running backs today. It is viable to play two of the listed running backs if Royce Freeman and Deuce Vaughn are inactive. Hunter Luepke, though listed as a running back, has been working as a tight end during camp.
Tyler Goodson and Evan Hull are expected to receive a fair amount of playing time as they compete for the third running back spot. Trey Sermon is also a solid play. Be sure to check if Blake Corum is active; if he is not, Ronnie Rivers and Zach Evans are good alternatives.
The Rams are short on wide receivers today with their starters out and may only dress six. Additionally, they are thin at tight end, with Hunter Long and Miller Forristall being the best options. Long is expected to be heavily owned. The Cowboys are also somewhat thin at tight end, with Luke Schoonmaker and Jake Ferguson carrying questionable tags. John Stephens Jr. is a strong option in their place.
