DraftKings NBA DFS Picks Today, March 19
5 – Alexandre Sarr
Position: C | Salary: $6,400
Projections: 19.5 Points, 7.7 Rebounds, 3.4 Assists, 2.6 Stocks
Sarr is stepping into a prime role tonight for the Washington Wizards. With Jordan Poole doubtful and Khris Middleton, Marcus Smart, and Corey Kispert out, Sarr’s role is solidified. I’m a bit cautious about his minutes, as the Wizards may start pulling back late in the season, but he’s been seeing plenty of action — aside from the last game. Over a fantasy point per minute, a fantastic matchup against the Utah Jazz and a short-handed roster make Sarr a top-10 play no matter what happens today. Keep an eye on any minutes restriction updates, but for now, Sarr is a strong DFS option.
4 – Colby Jones
Position: SG/SF | Salary: $3,200
Projections: 9.0 Points, 5.4 Rebounds, 3.0 Assists, 2.1 Stocks
You may not even know who this guy is. I barely do. But Jones is showing up in my top 5 today, and here’s why: Washington is missing bodies, and his price tag and role make him the perfect value play. He played 25 minutes last game, and given how shorthanded the Wizards are, he should see similar action tonight.
Jones averages close to a fantasy point per minute in this spot, which is rare for a $3,200 shooting guard/small forward option. I expect 10% to 15% ownership, but if he gets a few more minutes, he could become a must-play in value builds.
3 – Chet Holmgren
Position: PF/C | Salary: $7,600
Projections: 22.0 Points, 8.9 Rebounds, 2.7 Assists, 3.6 Stocks
Holmgren looks incredible tonight for the Thunder. With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Luguentz Dort out, plus Cason Wallace and Isaiah Hartenstein listed as questionable, Chet is the offensive centerpiece for Oklahoma City.
Holmgren’s price is too low for this role, and against a Philadelphia 76ers team that might be starting Oshae Brissett at center, he’s an absolute smash play. If you’re building lineups today, Holmgren should be near the top of your priority list.
2 – Kenrich Williams
Position: PF/C | Salary: $3,200
Projections: 11.9 Points, 5.8 Rebounds, 3.0 Assists, 1.3 Stocks
Williams is playing big minutes for a short-handed Thunder team. If Wallace and Hartenstein sit, Williams’ role will only increase, making him the best value play on the slate. If he starts, he’s a lock in cash games and a 50%-owned GPP play.
1 – A.J. Johnson
Position: PG | Salary: $3,500
Projections: 13.8 Points, 3.6 Rebounds, 5.9 Assists, 1.0 Stocks
Johnson takes the top spot for Wednesday’s slate. The Wizards are extremely short-handed, and he’s likely to start and run the show at point guard. With Poole doubtful and several key players out, Johnson is a priority play. He’s the best value on the board unless we get news that he’s not starting. As long as he’s in the first unit, he’s the top DFS pick today.
