5 – Naz Reid
Position: PF/C | Salary: $4,400
Projections: 13.0 Points, 5.7 Rebounds, 1.5 Assists, 1.8 Stocks
Reed typically plays around 25 minutes a night and gets a favorable matchup against Atlanta. There’s not a ton of value yet on this slate, but that could change closer to lock. Reed’s per-minute production and positional flexibility make him a solid option for now. While he might not remain in my top 5 if value opens up elsewhere, he’s still likely to land in the top 10.
4 – Jalen Brunson
Position: PG | Salary: $8,300
Projections: 26.7 Points, 3.3 Rebounds, 7.3 Assists, 1.1 Stocks
The Knicks are playing the Raptors, who are on the second leg of a back-to-back and constantly dealing with injuries. Brunson’s minutes have been trending up, and his consistent playing time makes him an appealing option. His ownership is also lower than other high-priced guys, so I’m definitely prioritizing him on this slate.
3 – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Position: PG | Salary: $10,100
Projections: 33.0 Points, 5.6 Rebounds, 6.0 Assists, 2.8 Stocks
The concern here is the potential for a blowout against the league’s worst defense. Washington is bad enough that Gilgeous-Alexander might only play around 28 minutes if things get out of hand. That said, he’s still a fantastic pay-up option today, as long as you’re comfortable with the blowout risk.
2 –Â Giannis Antetokounmpo
Position: PF/C | Salary: $11,300
Projections: 34.5 Points, 11.8 Rebounds, 6.3 Assists, 2.4 Stocks
With Damian Lillard doubtful in a pace-up spot against the Bulls, Giannis becomes the league’s top per-minute fantasy producer. If he’s in, he’s the premier pay-up option on this slate. However, if Giannis is ruled out, it’ll open up significant value for the Bucks, so keep an eye on the news.
UPDATE: Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ruled out.
1 – Ryan Rollins
Position: PG | Salary: $3,500
Projections: 13.5 Points, 4.4 Rebounds, 3.3 Assists, 2.4 Stocks
Rollins is starting in place of Lillard, making him the best value on the slate. Assuming Rollins retains his starting role, he’s the first guy you lock into cash lineups. His price is simply too low for the role he’s stepping into. Even if this game stays competitive, Rollins should easily outperform his salary.
