5 – Anthony Davis
Position: C | Salary: $10,500
Projections: 26.1 Points, 12.1 Rebounds, 3.4 Assists, 3.3 Stocks
The six-game slate limits our pay-up options, and Davis stands out as one of the best. With 35 minutes projected, his ceiling is undeniable, and the center-only designation shouldn’t scare you off. Late-swap flexibility is another perk, given this game’s later start time. While Victor Wembanyama might be tempting on the other side, Davis is the more reliable option. Pay up for him with confidence.
4 – Amen Thompson
Position: SG/SF | Salary: $7,300
Projections: 16.2 Points, 9.2 Rebounds, 3.2 Assists, 2.7 Stocks
Thompson slides in at No. 4, taking full advantage of the absences of Jabari Smith Jr. and likely Tari Eason in a pace-up game against Memphis—the fastest team in the league. The dual eligibility at shooting guard and small forward makes him incredibly versatile, and with 35-plus minutes likely, he is primed for another big outing. Thompson thrives in matchups like this, and I’m locking him in where I can.
3 – Fred VanVleet
Position: PG | Salary: $7,100
Projections: 16.6 Points, 4.2 Rebounds, 6.4 Assists, 2.3 Stocks
VanVleet benefits from the same pace-up matchup against Memphis, with the potential to play upwards of 40 minutes if the game stays competitive.
VanVleet can be a rollercoaster — his shooting can either win you a contest or sink your lineup. But today’s matchup and price tag make him too good to pass up. If he gets hot from deep, you’ll want him in your lineups.
2 – LeBron James
Position: PF | Salary: $9,500
Projections: 22.8 Points, 7.2 Rebounds, 8.2 Assists, 1.6 Stocks
LeBron’s power forward-only designation limits his flexibility slightly, but his price tag opens up plenty of roster construction possibilities. At home, with a bit of rest, I expect him to put on a show against Wembanyama and the Spurs. While Davis is a great option, James edges him out as the more affordable Laker to target tonight.
1 – Rudy Gobert
Position: C | Salary: $5,200
Projections: 10.9 Points, 10.4 Rebounds, 1.8 Assists, 2.1 Stocks
Gobert is No. 1 — yes, you read that right. Gobert is my top play today, and the reason is simple: He’s facing the Washington Wizards. He doesn’t need to do much to crush value at this price since the Wizards are abysmal defensively, and this matchup is perfect for Gobert to dominate. He offers incredible value, especially if he racks up a few extra stocks. The $5,000 center range is stacked, but no one has a better matchup than Gobert.
