5 – Darius Garland
Position: PG | Salary: $7,500
Projections: 22.6 Points, 2.6 Rebounds, 6.6 Assists, 1.4 Stocks
Garland has been phenomenal this season and should be a lock for the All-Star game; tonight he gets a matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers and projects for 32 minutes. While his positional flexibility is limited to point guard only, he’s still a fantastic play on this three-game slate. With the 76ers struggling defensively, Garland looks even better, and if you want to pair him with Donovan Mitchell, that’s not a bad idea either.
4 – C.J. McCollum
Position: PG/SG | Salary: $7,800
Projections: 22.4 Points, 6.1 Rebounds, 5.7 Assists, 1.1 Stocks
McCollum’s eligibility at both point guard and shooting guard adds some lineup flexibility, which is crucial on a small slate. With Zion Williamson out, there’s more usage to go around, and McCollum will likely be the focal point of the Pelicans offense. The matchup is fast paced — seven possessions faster than the other two games — so this is a prime spot for McCollum to shine, even as the Pelicans are massive underdogs.
3 – Ja Morant
Position: PG | Salary: $9,000
Projections: 24.0 Points, 4.4 Rebounds, 8.0 Assists, 1.5 Stocks
Morant’s ceiling is sky-high, especially in a game that’s projected to be significantly faster paced than the other matchups on the slate. As Memphis starts to ramp up Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr., Morant is likely to see his minutes increase in competitive games. This is a great opportunity to roster him in a favorable matchup where he can dominate both offensively and in transition.
2 – LaMelo Ball
Position: PG | Salary: $10,500
Projections: 28.8 Points, 5.3 Rebounds, 8.1 Assists, 1.7 Stocks
The Trail Blazers are dealing with injury issues in their frontcourt, with Deandre Ayton questionable and Robert Williams already out. This opens the door for Ball to consistently attack the rim. While he’s already popular, keep in mind that Ball is questionable himself, so monitor his status throughout the day. If he’s out, other Charlotte guards like Vasilije Micic could become valuable pivots.
1 – Dejounte Murray
Position: PG | Salary: $8,400
Projections: 19.0 Points, 6.2 Rebounds, 7.9 Assists, 2.0
This game’s pace favors the Pelicans, adding about four extra possessions compared to their average. Despite Memphis boasting a strong defense, the high tempo offsets some of that difficulty. With Williams out, Murray sees a slight usage and assist bump, making him the top play on this short slate.
