5 – Tobias Harris
Position: PF | Salary: $5,600
Projections: 14.4 Points, 6.7 Rebounds, 2.7 Assists, 1.7 Stocks
Harris has been seeing more minutes and a slight uptick in usage since Jaden Ivey went down. In a fast-paced matchup against Atlanta, his price tag hasn’t yet caught up to his increased role, making him a solid value option. You’re saving around $400 by rostering him, and with this game being such a pace-up spot for Detroit, Harris becomes an excellent mid-range play.
4 – Cade Cunningham
Position: PG | Salary: $10,200
Projections: 27.0 Points, 6.3 Rebounds, 10.0 Assists, 1.7 Stocks
Like Harris, Cunningham benefits from Ivey’s absence, with increased ball-handling responsibilities and usage. In what should be a competitive, high-paced game, Cunningham’s minutes and production make him one of my favorite pay-up options on the slate.
3 – Mark Williams
Position: C | Salary: $7,000
Projections: 17.4 Points, 11.9 Rebounds, 2.5 Assists, 2.3 Stocks
Williams has locked down the starting center role for Charlotte. He offers excellent per-minute production, and while the matchup against Memphis is tough defensively, the pace of the game is favorable, and his salary still has room to grow. As long as he continues logging 30-minute starts, Williams is a great option, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see his price climb higher in the near future.
2 – Nick Smith Jr.
Position: SG/SF | Salary: $3,200
Projections: 11.4 Points, 3.1 Rebounds, 2.3 Assists, 0.8 Stocks
Smith lands as the top value play on the slate. With Brandon Miller out, Smith has moved into the starting lineup. While he isn’t a great NBA player, his salary and positional flexibility make him an incredible DFS option, and he allows you to fit in premium options like Giannis Antetokounmpo.
1 – Giannis Antetokounmpo
Position: PF/C | Salary: $11,800Projections: 33.0 Points, 11.1 Rebounds, 6.0 Assists, 2.1 Stocks
No surprises here: Giannis is the top play of the day in a favorable matchup against the shorthanded Pelicans. With Zion Williamson and Yves Missi both questionable, the Pelicans are unlikely to offer much resistance. Giannis is the best pay-up option on the slate, and with value plays like Smith available, it’s easy to fit him into your lineup.
UPDATE: Bucks-Pelicans has been postponed.
