5 – Vince Williams Jr.
Position: SG/SF | Salary: $3,500
Projections: 10.0 Points, 4.6 Rebounds, 2.6 Assists, 1.3 Stocks
Williams is a solid value play today, but I expect him to fall out of my top 5 as we get closer to lock and more value opens up. Right now, with the Grizzlies missing Ja Morant, G.G Jackson and Lamar Stevens (doubtful), Williams is in line for 20 to 22 minutes, making him a solid point-per-dollar option. He’s projected for 22 fantasy points with a target of 28, and he’s currently in the optimal lineup 33% of the time. That number will likely dip throughout the day, but at this price, his flexibility at shooting guard and small forward is appealing.
4 – Karl-Anthony Towns
Position: C | Salary: $10,000
Projections: 27.7 Points, 12.6 Rebounds, 3.1 Assists, 1.6 Stocks
With no Jalen Brunson and no Miles McBride for the Knicks, this is the Towns show. He’s playing 34.5 minutes against a Dallas team that will have Kai Jones and Dwight Powell to match up — good luck with that. Towns is projected for 52.5 fantasy points with a ceiling of 60. He’s in the optimal lineup 32% of the time, and with his matchup, I expect to get to a lot of him. This is an easy pay-up spot for me.
3 – Jeremy Sochan
Position: PF/C | Salary: $5,600
Projections: 14.6 Points, 8.5 Rebounds, 3.3 Assists, 1.7 Stocks
Even though Bismack Biyombo moved back into the starting lineup last game, his minutes were limited to just the beginning of each half, so Sochan should still see 28 to 32 minutes. At this price, his positional flexibility and upside make him a strong play, though his minutes could fluctuate slightly. Expect Sochan to remain a valuable mid-tier option.
2 – Scotty Pippen Jr.
Position: PG | Salary: $5,000
Projections: 13.2 Points, 4.4 Rebounds, 5.8 Assists, 2.4 Stocks
Memphis value is strong today, and Pippen stands out. Over the past three games without Morant, he’s played 28 to 31 minutes a night, and now he gets a prime matchup against Utah. Projected for 31.5 fantasy points with a target of 35, his defensive activity adds even more value. The Grizzlies are missing key pieces, and Pippen should continue to see solid minutes in the starting lineup.
1 – Cameron Payne
Position: PG/SG | Salary: $4,600
Projections: 15.0 Points, 2.7 Rebounds, 6.5 Assists, 1.4 Stocks
This one isn’t even close — Payne is the best play on the slate. With no Brunson and no McBride, he played 30 minutes last time out, and I have him projected for 28 tonight. His target score is 33 fantasy points, and he’s in the optimal lineup 75% of the time. The Knicks don’t have much competition for minutes at point guard, so Payne is an obvious value. Just lock him in.
