NBA DFS Picks Today: Building Blocks
D’Angelo Russell: Lakers at Hawks
NBA DFS Projections
DraftKings: 31.66 | FanDuel: 30.59
NBA DFS Ownership Projections
DraftKings: 54.8% | FanDuel: 18.3%
DFS Salary
DraftKings: $5,400 | FanDuel: $6,300
D’Angelo Russell has been motivated and engaged all season, even when he moves to a reserve role. He had told new head coach J.J. Reddick at the beginning of the season, that he was willing to do whatever the team needed this year.
Now with Austin Reaves out, Russell is expected to make his third
Over his last five appearances, three of which were as a reserve, Russell is averaging 28.7 minutes, 16.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.0 steals. In his two starts, he played 33.7 and 30 minutes, which lends credence to an expectation of 30 to 32 minutes of run tonight.
Atlanta is favored by 5.5 tonight, though this is still a winnable game for Los Angeles. The Hawks have played at the fastest pace in the league over the last 10 games, which helps improve the prospects for the key Lakers. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are likely to land on close to one-third of all rosters on FanDuel and in the 25% range on DraftKings.
Los Angeles has the fourth-worst defensive efficiency over the last 10 games, allowing 117.9 points per 100 possessions. Jalen Johnson and Trae Young are terrific tournament options, but with everyone healthy for the Hawks and this being a home game, it is a longer row to hoe to get to the top of the heap.
Jeremy Sochan: Spurs vs. Kings
NBA DFS Projections
DraftKings: 35.62 | FanDuel: 34.87
NBA DFS Ownership Projections
DraftKings: 31.4% | FanDuel: 30.1%
DFS Salary
DraftKings: $6,100 | FanDuel: $6,300
Devin Vassell is out on the back-to-back and Victor Wembanyama is doubtful. That means significant minutes and production is up for grabs. Jeremy Sochan (fractured left thumb) has played twice since missing 12 games, and with 35.7 minutes under his belt last night, he looks to have his legs under him.
For those who are less than impressed with Sochan, Stephon Castle has similar upside and a lower salary. The rookie is not particularly consistent, but minutes are minutes.
Neither Zach Collins, nor Charles Bassey started last night against Chicago, but that could change tonight against Sacramento and the Rebound King Domantas Sabonis. Bail out if neither is with the first five, though the prospects of both increase if one gets the nod.
The Kings are in play and look strong as 6.5 road-favorites, plus even without Wemby and Vassell, the Spurs have done well on their home court more often than not. That could keep things closer into the fourth quarter, boosting the production for Sabonis, De’Aaron Fox, DeMar “Remember Me?!” DeRozan and the surging Malik Monk.
Today’s Top Sports Betting Pick
Harrison Barnes has taken to the role of steady veteran, along with Chris Paul, but the under on his 18.5 points + rebounds + assists (PRA) prop stands out as an intriguing opportunity.
Looking at the screen shot of Portfolio EV, we can see this wager is likely to come to fruition 60% of the time, and even with a -130 payout, that brings a nice 5.9% expected ROI.
BetMGM and Hard Rock are offering the -130, which, which far exceeds the “True Odds” of -149 and the -150 or worse of most other books.
Using Portfolio EV to crunch the numbers takes the guesswork out of finding +EV bets. This powerhouse tool pinpoints inefficient lines in a flash, making it easy to spot profitable opportunities.
Odds move fast. To stay ahead, you need accounts across multiple sportsbooks so you can pounce on the best lines the moment they pop up. That’s where Portfolio EV shines — it’s always scanning for the top odds, ensuring you’re first in line for every golden opportunity.
Stokastic’s Advanced NBA Statistical Projections have Barnes projected for 26.1 minutes, 9.69 points, 3.20 rebounds and 1.21 assists for a 14.1 PRA.
