NBA DFS Value and Advice | March 22

Denver Nuggets vs. Washington Wizards

For Denver, the best plays are likely to be Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, who are both consistent performers. Washington has not yet released an injury report, but it is unlikely that Kyle Kuzma will play. If Kuzma is out, the Wizards’ strong options include Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis. Other players who could see more playing time due to Kuzma’s absence include Deni Avdija and Corey Kispert.

Indiana Pacers vs. Toronto Raptors

Tyrese Haliburton is questionable for Indiana, and if he is out, players like Bennedict Mathurin, Buddy Hield and T.J. McConnell could become better options. The Raptors’ O.G. Anunoby and Scottie Barnes are both questionable as well, and if Barnes does not play, Gary Trent Jr. could be a strong NBA DFS value play. Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet and Jakob Poeltl are all good tournament options in a favorable matchup.

Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks

Draymond Green is pulling the most ownership on Golden State, and he could be a solid option. However, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are high-upside, contrarian plays. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway Jr. are questionable for Dallas, which means there is not much interest in the Mavericks unless they play. However, if they are out, Jaden Hardy will become a top NBA DFS value play, while Christian Wood and Josh Green will look considerably better as well.

New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat

Jalen Brunson is underpriced at $7,300 on DraftKings, which makes him an intriguing option. However, there is not much interest in the rest of the team since they are correctly priced. Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro are all decent options from Miami.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Milwaukee Bucks

The San Antonio Spurs face the Milwaukee Bucks in the third game of Wednesday’s slate. It is unclear who is playing for San Antonio, but assuming that Zach Collins and Devin Vassell are back after resting yesterday, there is unlikely to be anything that looks good. However, this is a great matchup for Milwaukee, but there is also a ton of blowout risk as they are 17.5-point favorites. No ownership is coming to this team, which makes Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday interesting in tournaments.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Dejounte Murray’s status is questionable for the Hawks, and if he plays, he is a secondary play alongside Trae Young and Clint Capela. If Murray sits, Young becomes a more attractive option and Capela gets a slight bump. Bogdan Bogdanovic, Saddiq Bey, John Collins and A.J. Griffin could see more minutes and production if Murray sits. Karl-Anthony Towns is expected back for the Timberwolves, but his role is unclear. Anthony Edwards is questionable but likely to play. Minnesota is not getting much ownership, making Edwards and Gobert appealing contrarian plays in a game with a high 241 total.

Update: Dejounte Murray ruled out.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls

James Harden and Joel Embiid are always good plays for the 76ers, but nothing stands out from Philadelphia. If Harden sits, Embiid will become a better option, as will Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris. There are no priorities from the Chicago side, but Nikola Vucevic, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan are always playable in tournaments.

Houston Rockets vs. Memphis Grizzlies

There is plenty of blowout risk for the Rockets as 12.5-point road underdogs. However, if the game is competitive, expect huge minutes from the Rockets starters. Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun have the most appealing price points. Ja Morant is expected back for Memphis, but it is unclear if he will come off the bench or start and how many minutes he will play. Memphis is inexpensive for the matchup, so Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. look good despite Morant’s return. The Grizzlies are also without Dillon Brooks, so there is more playing time available for a combination of David Roddy, John Konchar and Luke Kennard.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Utah Jazz

Portland is currently the most appealing team on the slate, with Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant sidelined. Lillard averages 1.77 DraftKings points per minute without either of them on the floor this season (compared to 1.25 when he shares the floor with both of them). It is likely that Trendon Watford will move back into the starting lineup, making him a viable option at $5,300. Jusuf Nurkic is likely to see an uptick in production as well. Matisse Thybulle and Cam Reddish should play big minutes without Grant or Simons. Nothing stands out from Utah, with Lauri Markkanen likely to return to the lineup.

Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers

No Deandre Ayton means Bismack Biyombo is likely to start. He is expected to be popular at just $3,700 on DraftKings. The Suns closed small last game, so there is no guarantee Biyombo will get more than 20 to 22 minutes, but if he plays four full rotations, he is likely to pay off his salary nicely. Devin Booker and Chris Paul are both viable contrarian plays. There are no priorities from the Lakers, but Anthony Davis offers a massive ceiling against a Biyombo-led Phoenix frontcourt.
